Symptom: Unable to launch software updapter because of unattended upgrade

Launch the following, and then choose "No":
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -plow unattended-upgrades

Run the three commands:
$ sudo apt-get install -f
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
/etc/cron.hourly/jboss-config
